President Macron does like his environmental grandstanding.He increased fuel prices quite significantly soon after being elected and that hasn't gone down well.
I would like to see more wood used,but in a sensible way.After 1666 and the great fire it became less easy to build wooden buildings in London for obvious reasons.The Grenfell disaster ought to remind us of the wisdom of this approach and I believe there is a dispute involving the French government and the firefighters at the moment.Unless any such new building incorporates excellent fire suppression measures,it looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Just remember there have been a number of fires in the last 20 years of timber frame blocks of flats during construction, though I will say I project managed a block in West Malvern in the 1970s
