Putin has been in touch with the President-Elect already to congratulate.
Released information indicates that an end to the war in Ukraine would be the aim of the adjudicated rapist and multiple felon - the two agreeing "Terms" under which war could be ended.
Zelensky has expressed "concern".

I share the concern - the notion of an adjudicated rapist, multiple felon and a warranted war criminal carving up foreign lands between them seems unpalatable.

What is going to happen to Ukraine now that we have a Putin sympathiser as US president?

I personally feel very worried for Ukraine, Trump is going to withdraw all support for Ukraine very very soon

What’a going to happen is Ukrainian people are going to stop dying.

I know that upsets you because you’re quite comfortable with them being cannon fodder, so you can ‘stick it to Putler’ [sic]

It’s not too late for you to pop over there and fire off a few rounds. Life expectancy on the front is about 8 hours.

Let us know how you get on!

Exactly - it comes out to play whenever Brexit gets mentioned also. There are those on both sides of the argument that are ready to call the other side thick. It's be far better imho to respect each others decision even if we don't understand how it's been reached ... although I've just seen in another thread someone is objecting having had the olive branch of "lets agree to disagree" offered

I’m not sure I’ve heard people on the right call those on the left thick as in ‘low Iq’.
Often it’s more terms like:

‘Mentally unwell’
‘Unhinged’
‘Delusional’
‘Narcissistic’
‘manipulative liar’.
‘Nutter’
‘Loon’

That sort of thing associated with people who are educated but guided by emotion, over logic and rational thinking.
The type of people that start melting down and becoming mentally unwell, if the world doesn’t conform entirely to their belief system.
The type of people who after losing a democratic vote, can’t let it go and instead of walking away like a normal person, spend their time endlessly campaigning and complaining about the result, demonising those who ‘did this to them’.

Those people are far more dangerous to society than low IQ voters.
There's far fewer of them but they are much more capable of manipulation.

Anyway, those people just got rek’d by voters, so let’s see the melt down get worse until they start openly calling for violence. Which will start in a few weeks.

surrendering to Putin by giving him a big chunk of Ukraine won’t stop Ukrainians dying

It will just give Putin time to build another war chest and start another offensive.

Trump surrendered to the Taliban…..that went well :ROFLMAO:

Wtf sort of a comment is that 🤣 : . I think the Ukrainians and the Russians are the ones who want to fight the war. Something to do with not being occupied by a foerign power, I think. The question is whether or not to support one side or the other, or neither.

And then in your later comment you seem to imply that campaigning after a vote isn't acceptable. When is it OK to start campaigning again? A year? 10 years? A week?

Did you vote for Brexit, hmm?

There's some odd projection going on there; given that only one lot was rioting on 6 Jan 2021, and in this instance Harris has conceded, and Biden has said "We accept the choice the country made", "you can't love your country only when you win", and said he'll ensure a "peaceful and orderly transition".

Many sources from both sides of the Atlantic disagree with you.

Here is but one that I believe puts it rather well:

Additionally, is your overall awareness limited and your hostility biased? When you ask "what kind of hard of thinking leader would be open [sic] hostile to a potential leader of the free world", did you not realise that members of *other political parties* travelled to USA to openly campaign for Trump and were "openly hostile to a potential leader of the free world"?
Trump quoted the otherday:- "The Germans think we are stupid." All I can say is that it's the only true stastement bhe's made, AND the Germans are not alone!!! Trump & Starmer make a perfect couple IMHO!!!!!:ROFLMAO:

How are things at the moment, with you, your family and community?

We are almost all in the U.K. on this thread and aren’t in the thick of it, It would great to hear what it’s been like on the ground and how people feel knowing they have another 4 years of right wing populism.
Personally, I'm fine and should be able to withstand 4+ years of this tragic turn of events.
As the news hits today, we're already getting a glimpse of what horrors are to come as possible cabinet officials and policies begin to emerge.
In CA, where I live. The Governor has called a special session to attempt to "Trump Proof" the state. He doesn't want to go backwards on climate, women's rights or immigration.
I'm not sure what he actually can or can't do but the state of California is the 4th or 5th largest economy in the world and has over 10% of the U.S. population, there is considerable power he can use.
The right is ecstatic and feel they have a mandate to do pretty much what ever they want to.
The left is licking their wounds trying to figure out what happened and why people constantly vote against their own interests.

To be continued...

All the best to you mate - keep us updated in how things are going - if you are able!

I'm unclear what you are predicting here - do you think the Democrats are going to call for violence or are you talking about those whodunit agree with what Labour are doing?

I have no reason to believe either will happen. What am I missing?

Just a glimpse of what's to come.
So, at a quick glance it looks like, Science, education and diplomacy are all out the window.
Bring on the draconian policies, lets tear some immigrant families apart, lets put a tariff on everywhere I don't like, lets start the investigations into my rivals, lets get rid of those pesky regulations.....

Interesting that some Tesla components, blade batteries for example, are made in China.
So guessing Trump's "we're going to tariff the **** out of them" might have some exceptions ?
His plan is to also 'bribe'...oops, sorry, invest in US companies to bring manufacturing back to the States rather than outsource to China...more jobs to US citizens..win win. Or so he says.

Everybody will suffer (apart from the rich) the only difference is his supporters just dont know it yet.

the problem with populists is everything they do is for short term gain, for example he might be able to negotiate a deal with Putin, but long term it will lead to an emboldened Putin who will restart his ambitions to take as much of Eastern Europe as he can.

The same thing applies to domestic politics........Trump will slash corp tax which will lead to growth but tax receipts will plummet and public services will be decimated

Unfortunately it is Zelensky who is not accepting any diplomacy and might be because he feels the west is not only supporting him but foolishly believes the west will not allow there defeat, along comes trump who probably realises that no mater how much support is given Ukraine is not going to come out on top and that maybe if he stops putting more fuel into the fire it will at least open a window for negiotations. I know many people think that this is giving in to Russia but the issue started on the day that Nato proceeded to move east and Ukraine became the final straw and the point of ignition.
