This is a long overdue update on the progress we have made on the media room.

Whoo Hoo! Now that's what I call home entertainment. I like the popcorn machine and the Terminator head. Is it in an attic space?

The room was partly created when we did a side extension, it does help when the house has a 45degree pitch. The third floor also houses the fourth bedroom and bathroom. and a seperate laundry room.

when we did the extension, we made sure there is no natural daylight - that is an absolute a must for to create a cinema room. it needs to be pitch black. at the back of the cinema room is a storage room. this helped to get a straight wall at the end to hang the tv's and drop down screen

Love the Han Solo. Why are there two tvs when the screen is up?

the two tv's are there for gaming. so each of the tv's is hooked up to its own xbox. (my sons each have there own account)
Two screens work better then a split screen

Very nice, but you REALLY need a media server...

Si.

I was thinking of the Apple TV. although the DVD player already gives us access to the internet. so does the xbox.

And I suppose you have a dolly bird with a torch to show everybody to their seats and then come round during the interval with a tray (with a little light) full of goodies hung round her neck?

Looks superb! I would live in there.

As for media server/player, I just got a WD TV and so far very impressed! Has a ton of services built in plus it pulls music, video and photo's from a media hub/hard drive and various laptops. All over wifi.
