The darn thing really does work too - the rotating parallelogram frame structure actually results in those four positions....

I love this bit on the site:

Best of all - all kerf spacings and angles are completely and perfectly preserved by the Veritas Variable Gang Saw (2009). It's just not possible to cut the wrong angle, as the two outer blades act as out-riggers for the central blade - the same way training wheels hold a bicycle in the correct orientation! Instead of "measure twice, cut once", your new workshop mantra can be "measure once - cut three times"; an incredible difference of six times faster!

That alone should have given it away :D
