I haven't posted anything here for a while, but I've been writing away on my dorset custom furniture blog ... i just finished a post about two conference tables with 24" granite borders that we're working on ... One is 26' x 9' and one is 20' x 8'. They have to break down and be shipped and reassembled 400 miles away in New Jersey when we're finished ... That's 28 pieces of granite about 2' x 4' x 1.125" thick, 12 table top sections, the smallest of which is 4' x 6', 12 veneered panels and two bases one with 9 sections and one with 7 sections. The granite itself will weigh about 3500 lbs and it's all cantilevered on steel supports with the bases only under the center veneered sections .. Lots of engineering, lots of collaboration ... coming down the home stretch now ... Check it out here http://dorsetcustomfurniture.blogspot.com/2010/06/small-table-20-x-8.html if you have a minute ... best ... dan

20'r in the foreground, 26 footer in the background, set up in my garage because they are too big to set up in my shop

I made a couple of those last week.. :D

Interesting point you make about the MDF expanding - fortunately I don't work on stuff that large so it's not an issue for me.

Congratulations on a heck of a project.

I wouldn't even know where to start with something like that, mind boggling! Congratulations on the work, that is super impressive.

what I meant to say was this is increadible and I'm very impressed.
