Hi

I bought a used Triton TRA001 on eBay. Seems the seller was a bit less than honest in his description.

There are a few problems but the one that worries me the most is that the depth indicator cannot be locked in place with the knob. When removing the knob it seems that there should be something in the hole to press against the rod when the knob is tightened. The length of screw that the knob is attached to doesn't seem long enough to do this job on its own. Can spares be had for this machine?

Also, how many springs should the router have in its "legs"? Does anybody know? It has one and this seems sufficient but I'm worried just how many bits are missing from this excellent machine.

Thanks all!

I can confirm that there is just one spring.

and if you mount it in a router table remove the spring as it makes it alot easier to rise and fall the router using the rack and pinion.

Thanks, all. Reply from Ray for future visitors from Google:-

"There should be a brass plug with a concave end (TRA032) and a spring (TRA133). Both are available for £2.23 plus postage. When fitting the plug, ensure that the concavity is correctly aligned to grip the shaft. There is only one plunge spring - designed that way for easy removal for inverted use in a table)."
