I've just got a 1400W Triton Router from the nice people at D&M tools. The plunge selector button - which depresses and stays put for free plunging, but can be released by pressing again to return to winder adjustment - is now stuck in, leaving me with plunge mode only... Does anyone have experience of this and a solution short of exchange?

D&M pointed me in the direction of Triton, but no reply (well, it is a Saturday) and I'd like to get cracking...

Thanks, Neil.

Thanks too, to Ray who has provided the answer - so no longer a problem!

The plunge selector button needs a firm push in to select "free plunge" mode (the button stays in most of the way), then another firm push in to release it back to rack-and-pinion mode. Sometimes, this can be a little difficult when new, as the components are quite a tight fit.

Some users are not sure how hard to make the second, releasing, push, sometimes the button gets skewed a fraction so needs a sharp tap. The latter proved to be the solution in this instance.

This is not a frequent occurrence, but luckily one I knew how to solve. :)

Ray.
