This is the first project that I have WIPed so excuse any ramblings

When I say tree house it will be more of a slide shed with a tree growing through it, you can only work with what you have!!!!

The garden is not really big enough for this and I am slightly concerned it might look like something from escape to victory. However I am going to have a good crack at making this for my lad he will be two in a few weeks so this will make for a nice present. The missis is not convinced that it is a good idea either, she is not easily pleased

I have taken the first few steps and posting these pictures means no way back now.

Three of these pitch pine planks sawn into the sizes you can see for cladding

This is where it is going to go

More tomorrow I hope, I have to do some family chores as ever but should make some progress

Hello
I have made good progress today in between Tescos, the kiddy playpark and several other sunday related time killers.

If you are wondering about the tyres they are to let the tree sway a bit in the wind.

I managed to get some of the cladding done and am pleased with how it looks

I am enjoying this whole logging the build lark, it is good to see the progress

That looks fantastic, I bet your son's eager to have a go already, and I bet the missus is more convinced now! I wish my dad had made me something like that when we were younger. Most my dad ever made was a large dog kennel out of a pallet(forbase) and some rubbish ply(two sides and roof) and hardboard (for the ends). It was beig enough for me and my sister and the dog. Needless to say, one day it did just collapse!

Brilliant.:)

I wonder who is going to get the most fun from it, you or your son!

Thanks guys
I am having a great time building it.
The lad has been making a fuss all day to get involved, I did let him come out for a bit but has started wanging the sand about and waving a trowel like a sword. I got to a stage where it was ready for a test run this afternoon.
So he and the nextdoor neigbours kids had good session, they loved it :D
I have got a busy week this week and next weekend is going to be marking coursework. I am going to have to try and squeeze in what I can in the evenings.
I will keep you all posted.

Good work. Rich. :) And I thought those ladders were only there to help you build the thing! :D

Can't wait to see the Glos. version, Grandma is sure to want to have a go.

In my copious spare time this summer I will hopefully be building a treehouse / playhouse in the garden. I have been looking at these guys for the hardware as you can buy the hardware packs rather than the whole kit: Jungle Gym

I have seen a couple of their playhouses made up and they look really good. My problem is that my garden is on a 1 in 4 slope, so the slide can be dug into the side of the hill, but the swings are going to be a problem ;) Being positioned where it will have to be I am going to need to come up with a unique idea rather than a standard sits on the floor kit.

Thanks guys
I have done some more this evening, cladding on the front (too dark to take a photo.)

That website looks great, there is some nice stuff there for the future, I have put it in my favs.

Funny you should mention the Glos connection Chas. This summer I am converting the small shed you saw into a summer house for my mum. It is here version of the same thing I suppose.

ladder wise, to be honest it did :D help. My steps are in the loft and I am lazy

She will be disappointed if she doesn't get a ladder and a slide ;)
