Hi

I'm off to pick up my first bandsaw on Friday, a small kity 613 I think.

Is there anything I need to know about transporting it? Anything need bolting down, tightening up etc?

Cheers

Mark

I moved a big one, but the principle must be similar. Remove blade, table and any extras and try to lay it on its spine rather than on its side. You may get away without taking off the table on the kity because it is lighter. I couldn't load mine so it was standing up or I probably would have done so.

I helped a pal load one in a Pope mobile for a trip to France (his home) last year and we did the same. Removed blade, seats down, bandsaw on its back and then loads of straps and bungies holding it down inside the vehicle. I recall we wedged it in various places too to prevent any risk of it rolling at all. It was a mid sized Scheppach, don't recall the model.

His car was good in the sense it had a number of strong steel loops attached to the frame which were designed for strapping wayward loads to.

Cheers
So blade out, possibly table off, lay on spine, not side

Nothing else to worry about?
