ok then, so you are in the middle of turning and suddenly you realise all the coffee you just had now needs to be emptied, as i do not have a smock at the moment and my toilet is inside the house and SWMBO dont want shavings shrewn across the floor, so before i can relieve myself i have to hoover myself down, which in turn can take 5 precious painful minutes.
So what do you do instead of dropping shavings everywhere??

I have an outside loo, next to the workshop.
Otherwise,I just walk shavings into the house, and vacuum them up later...

Steve
Get laminate flooring then it just sweeps off

Or a long hose pipe

  I'm treating this tongue in cheek Steve, but if you are serious you can pick up second hand Porta Potti's for £10. Pity you where not a bit closer I've got a old one in the shed we used when tenting years ago.

Or as I do at my allotment, pee on the compost heap, or if the ladies are down pee in a plastic jug in the shed, then dispose of it.

Or as has been suggested, stand up for yourself man! What are you, a man or mouse? After all what's a few shavings between friends.

Mind you I've sorted 'er indoors out about wood chips, I do my turn at house work.

George, been married for 30 odd years you don't have to tell me. I can do anything I want, as long as 'er indoors lets me.

I have brush next to the door....have got shavings on carpet..
Down to me to clean up..as long as I do no complaints..YET
Suppose as long as I do not get any in the bed shes happy

ahh see the 'smock' that I use is made from that waterproof material and the chips just fall off. So a quick dusting and I can get away with walking through the house.

Tho the missus does keep saying that if I got rid of the workshop we could have a down stairs loo.... :(

I always find that most of the chippings come off my shoes/trainers.So i just slip them off before trapesing through
But it only takes five minutes to run the vac over :D

Well, I do wear a smock and that helps. so does an air compressor which gets most of the chips off my beard, hat, arms, and other places. I wear slip on shoes, and will take a broom to my socks. I have thought about one of the painters Tyvek suits/overalls (don't know if you have that over there, but a light weight (Dupont) material used for wrapping houses to keep out moisture but breathable) which will shed almost anything, but I am one of those 'hot' people... 'Are you crazy, wearing shorts in this weather?' Shavings happen. Not so crazy that I would try turning in the buff, no matter what the weather was like, but then with my pelt, it would still attract a lot of chips. You wouldn't really want to see that.
