In a thread, below, Eshmiel, asked about repairing a corner brace. Looking at it I can see the Toga brand on the handle, I've stolen his photo and put it up on this thread.
I've got a Delway Floorboard cutter with a handle which looks exactly like Eshmiel's corner brace with their tapered ferrule. I had for a long time thought that the handle was made for Delway by Skinner but maybe I'm wrong, My Delway and Skinner both use an aluminium alloy ratchet selector as I assume does the Toga. Any ideas?

Can’t help with that, sorry but that floorboard saw is interesting, not seen one before. Is the shoe for a foot or a knee? Whichever, the blade is quite close! Presumably it just ratchets at a slow bit at a time?

Cabinetman, there are two tools, that one cuts across the floor boards as you suggested, by standing or kneeling on the shoe and working the handle. The other cuts the tongue between the boards on tongue & groove flooring by putting your foot on it and rolling it back and forth, no handle on this one. They were given to me by a plumber and gas fitter who brought them out from the UK when he came here in the '60's. He said plumbers and sparkies used them for access under the floor. He said they weren't very effective on some of the hard timber used for flooring out here.

Cheers,
Geoff.

Never seen the tongue cutter before Geoff, thanks for sharing.
