Hi. im new too woodworking. i am going to try it as iv always has interest but just now beingableto afford some tools.
Is there anyone from northern ireland can reccommend where to buy wood? or is there anywhere online? im from tyrone but anywhere around northern ireland might help.

thanks

Depending on what type of wood you are looking for I use Mcgregor & Son in Belfast 028 9045 1244 for imported woods like walnut, oak or maple
Or if you want some local woods like Yew or sycamore I use http://www.wood-shed.com/index.html Sams his name and woods his game. He mostly does woodturning but cuts planks for me and stores them (nice guy) and very easy to pay.

But for something closer to home look for tree surgeons in the yellow pages these guys usually cut planks from felled trees.

Cheers

Ian

you could try Ray Grahams in Newtownards, and there is a timber merchant in Bangor on the Gransha Road near the petrol station, Lynas I think. I have no idea if either do hardwoods though sorry.
