Keep up the booty sales

Nice haul.

How often will you have to stop and empty the bin on the front of your mower? I wouldn't be able to make one pass across my lawn without stopping.

If only the stall holder knew the tue value....what a bargain. =D>

I think you've just trounced Jimmy in the boot sale bargain stakes! 8)

Hi Wizer,

just very fortunate that no-one seemed to know what it was  I guess my anorak is showing

What I'm really looking for is a 4" engineers vice - but I guess EVERYONE will recognise that, so not likely to be cheapo :(

George - that link is to the newer model - I think the Intelli-fence was an earlier (simpler) version, has the chip extractor in the centre rather than the end.

Dave R - my patches of grass are quite small - the collector will not need emptying until finished

Hey, why doesn't anything like that EVER come up at Thainstone? (Our local CBS north of Aberdeen) Nothing much there ever except kiddie's awful plastic toys by the million or rusty, ex-offshore, spanners!
Almost worth the drive down to Fife :D

OMG I hadn't spotted the fact that Dave Sportique is just about local - I'm just south of the river and even closer than DickM, but no doubt he won't now reveal which locale his booty comes from !

Jim do you do the counting out the change bit as you ask that question?

I think it might be more than just change Tom!! :D

I am still in awe at the find...that is incredible...what is the matter with these people!? :D

I'd have tried to knock him down to 50p though....ya gotta barter mate! :D

Jim

Jimi - I've had a few bargains in the last year or so, but the Incra fence is clearly the best one. No-one had a clue what it was, I certainly wasn't about to tell them !! so I said I could make something with the ally!!

I have been in touch with Incra and ordered a metric conversion kit and replacement scales.

**** I used to live in Aberdeen and know Thainstone quite well - as you say not usually much there in the way of woodworking kit.

Rob, not saying where I found the Incra, , but there is a semi-permanent CBS at Kinross just off the M90 (no it wasn't there  ), usually some useful stuff there.

There are two other regular CBS that I know of - at Crail and Tayport - a long way from Edinburgh and I've not found anything there yet!

Keep checking the CBS guys

When we lived near Milton Keynes, we dropped in to a tabletop sale in Woburn Sands, where I spotted what I thought was probably a Russian Fed or similar camera from the 1950s/60s. But with my glasses on, could see it said "Leica" on the front. Innocently asked the price, and the guy said "it's a nice camera - £20?" Was too flabbergasted to bargain (which I should have done, so the guy didn't feel he'd underpriced it :D ) Dated it as a 1938 Leica IIIa, which at the time, in that condition, was worth about £200-300.
Used it off and on for a while, and still have it. But of course film cameras like that are now only worth a few 10s of pounds at best:(
You can't win 'em all.....
One good thing about the Aberdeen area is ScotAds. Always worth a look!

Hi John

I bought my INCA tablesaw on the basis that my eyes read INCRA...when I didn't know about INCA....now I know about INCA as well, I am pleased I read it wrong! :D

The quality just SCREAMS at you...init?

Jim

Jim,

Hmmm

I'd have to buy a real good router table, or power saw to use it I think?

I am saving for that Domino too..
It never, ever ends does it! :D :D

John :)

Well, having complained that Thainstone only ever had kiddy stuff, managed a couple of reasonable purchases today - a couple of Crown HSS bowl gouges, a Sorby bent shaft hollower all brand new for a bit undr half retail, and an Elu (i.e. Trend/deWalt before they cut corners :) ) dovetail guide for £9. Not a craftsman's tool, I know, but occasionally useful. Only problem it's missing the relevant guide bush. Anyone know the size and best source? (to fit a MOF96 - I know, I just like older Elu kit :D. It's not Festool, but neither is it Black and Decker)

Just counted up - two MOF177s, two MOF96s, MFF planer, a small hand-held circular saw and a TGS Flipover. :D

****..
I believe it was a 5/8" bush.

That is if the jig is the old 'Cookie-cutter' jig as Paul Levine calls them.

I think Trend will stock the right bush. They made a simple 'drawer' jig in their early days if I recall.

Welded sheet steel and a bit tacky I thought. But they worked for big runs of drawers.
John :)

Hey ****, well done - pleased that Thainstone finally came up with something. The gouges sound useful
