As someone who's ethnically Scots, but born and brought up a long way south, I've often wondered about the relationship between Scottish politics and one of its major, peaty, liquid exports. Something to do with not being there, I guess.

Anyway, I was sent this today, which seems to explain the present debate in Edinburgh fairly well...

Then I thought of Westminster:

Hope you don't mind if I pinch the photo Eric!

Haha! - I thought was the only one who - every time he sees/hears her - hears a little voice saying "fandabbydozy" !!

I remember when those hand driers first appeared in the '70s (well, in Dorset they first appeared in the '70s anyway...). The first ones were very weak and not very effective. We had one fitted in the toilet of the machine shop at the factory where I worked. The instructions said something like "Rub hands together briskly in warm air flow".

After a couple of weeks of everyone being completely underwhelmed by this backwards step in personal hygiene some wag wrote underneath the instructions "...then wipe hands on overalls". For some reason I have remembered that all these years.....

Just to clarify... not all of us Scots want to be ruled by Brussels, or leave the UK.

Sturgeon and Salmond are anti English racists.

As obsessed as people in this country are with race, unfortunately 'English' isn't one.
