You are chuffed Blister! How then do you think that I feel? Your PM really was a shot out of the blue because I was sure there were several others there that would beat mine? :eek:ccasion5: :eek:ccasion5: :eek:ccasion5:

Thank you. The adjacent bit of Russian olive that I refered to is this bit, the really ugly bit with the lovely bit inside.. I still have this and it will be very interesting to see just what does come out?

Congratulations to all.
My personal top 3 (taste wise) are Jonzjob, duncanh and paul.j

Duncanh piece has made me think about investing in a dremel hehe

Excellent work Jonzjob. I show this thread to a couple of people and they all have commented on how stunning your piece was. The wood is just as stunning as the work.

Thank you HC and your friends too. But steady on because I can't afford a wider door to get my inflated head through.

I must admit that I stop to look at it when I walk past our mantle shelf. The wood turned out to be more spectacular than I thought. Russian olive is very diverse and the pens I've made from the smaller branches are almost yellow and very striped. I wish now that it was a bigger tree I had to take down.

I also have to admit that I had a passing thought about putting the 2 beech spiral candle sticks I did a while back one on the other, but I thought that someone was bound to notice   I just tried it and they don't fit :D :D

Errrrrr! Just to prove that I didn't

Hi all.

Believe me this was not easy there were so many very good entry's.
The winners i have chosen obviously reflect my personal taste to a certain degree so this does not take anything away from them i did not choose as winners.
Everybody that entered should be very proud of themselves for having a go.
Very very well done all of you.

Regards George
