This looks terrific. But the normal Domino is nearly £700 so I wonder what it will cost?

The video is doing the rounds here:

From about 5 mins is the domino XL. The interesting bit is it plunges to 70mm in one go vs the normal dominos 28 so can make a tenon that is 140mm long. Should help with people who want to use it for doors.

And the voice over is quite funny too.

I was expecting the oil to be green.. Like mucus!

Hi,

I was concerned to see the cutter exposed through the body of the tool, and he did seem to have his leg behind it pushing it in!

I saw that as well, but I think it does retract fully I think we could see it because he was working on a rebated edge? Looks like the handle design is better, I find the current way to hold the domino a bit uncomfortable.

Hi, Chems

Didn't phrase that to well, the cutter is visable between the motor and back of the fence in the first shot of it cutting.

Pete

The current domino to a degree has that problem as well, as you can get your finger squeezed between the oscillating motor part, not as bad as touching a cutter but still!

if its of any use i bought the surfix kit (first part of the vid) a couple of weeks back and i have to say its ******* ace

how much did the surfix kit cost you?

More than a rag thats for sure.

it was 117 quid which seems extortionate for what it is, but again it makes things easier and quicker for me and the finish is cracking.

Thats about right for festool, i worked for them for 2 years and was shocked by the prices sometimes but theres no doubt that the stuff is brilliant and saves you loads of time.
