Excellent. Did you cut the wood all the way through or leave a bit like the homework vid ?

I left a few mm of wood at the end of the cut. It makes clamping up very easy.

Indeed.
I was just being lazy. I didn't want to try cutting inserts exactly the same width as the kerf.
