Tried all suggestions finally went with the Shelia Landry design ( had a free copy on pad) used the large one and found it held up to 20mm thickness size A4.

The manager of the Arts Centre ordered 24 in two sizes, just started making them out of 4 mm ply done 14 and fed up

Try cutting 1000 hearts, now that is boredom and I have cut two batches so far.
