TH410 Thicknesser

I have a TH410 thicknesser which has broken the speed control. Not a great problem, since it “defaults” to the lowest feed speed, but I may be selling this machine and would like it to be 100%. The part that is broken is shown in the picture. Does anyone have one of these machines and could help me?
I want to identify how the metal threaded part shown is retained. I’m sure it’s a square peg of some sort that’s fallen out when the black tube broke, but what does the peg look like?I think the speed indicator is also a small grub screw - is this correct?

Nelly if you can hang on until tomorrow I will take a look at how mine goes together and may be able to help you with a pic or two, just got out he bath and don;t fancy taking covers off right now. There is from memory a small grub type screw in the top

Had a look at my machine and Took a couple of pics that might be of use. There is a L shaped round bar that goes up into the speed control and is fastened to the bracket by as far as i can tell two rubber grommets, the manual calls them retaining rings. the L shaped round bar is number 158 in the manual and described as a position bar .Hope this helps get you sorted.

@MARK.B. Thanks for the pictures. The part I'm after isn't listed in the manual!

The tube that's broken is 163. A grub screw, which is 162 has gone missing, but is easy to replace. There is a slot in tube 163 which engages with the metal collar, item 156. It's not listed on the diagram. I have found a better picture of mine before I took it completely to bits - hopefully this is clearer.

Had another look And the missing Bit you need is shown in the pics ,made of steel/metal, it is 10mm long and 5mm thick ,slightly rounded on the ends. I was a bit reluctant to take apart anything in case i messed things up so on a hunch I used one of those powerful little magnets and the piece just popped out. You should be able to fashion a replacement bit with a file and a a little time .

That's great. If you can get it out with a magnet, it's not held captive by anything other than gravity and friction! I'll repair the broken tube first, then make a "missing bit" to suit. I'll report back. Don't hold your breath
