I have some burnt resin on my tablesaw blade.
I know there are proprietary cleaners around, however I have heard of oven cleaners also used.
Can anyone recommend an oven cleaner that they have used on a saw blade, the wife can then also use the same stuff in her kitchen if that path is followed.

i've used cillit bang spray stuff from the kitchen cupboard which worked well. dunno what it is but it smelled of bleach and ammonia.

If you don't want to buy the correct stuff as Ironballs suggested why not put the blade in the washing machine on a hot wash - no need for fabric softener - should do the trick.

I'd just check the pockets though DW for tissues before you put it in the machine...you'll get little bits of soggy paper all over the blade otherwise - Rob

With all of his tissue boxes I can't imagine for one minute tissues ever get as far as his pockets.

I can't say I've ever had to clean any of my blades (it's not like I use them!). Is this something people do often?

Pony up the dough and get the CMT cleaner from Axminster

I second the CMT which will not only clean your blades, router bits, and any other metal woodworking tools, but it also protects your tools and machinery from rust (although I personaly still use Liberon Lubricating Wax for the cast iron tops). I know that it seems expensive, but the smaller bottle will last you a very long time. :D

Cheers

CMT for me too especially on my P/T when I saw rust appearing on the cutters after planing some Redwood!
