table saw question

I am thinking of taking the plunge and getting a saw. As i share my workspace with the works lockup. Portability is a major issue i was thinking of the festool basis system but it is sooo expensive. I was therefore wondering is this a good deal??

The second question is am thinking of going to w6 or whatever it is called. Is it just trade or are there bargains to have? I am in no rush but i think in the next 4-5 months i have a couple of projects i can justify this fot

The 746 is a good TS. Had a good look at when they came out a few years back. They may have listed at £1,800 but they seemed to sell for £14 or £1,500. Good value at £800 with the sliding table, right hand table and out feed. Decent mitre gauge too and good T-Bar fence. Build quality is very good too. If you buy I think you'll be happy.
As far as I recall DW may have discontinued them in the UK. They didn't sell that many as they were just too expensive. Quality wise waaay better than Fox / Record etc.

I have had a look at the SIP stuff but the deal they have at skelston are mainly at a constant price (ie not a deal). With regards to the scheppach stuff i do not particuarly want a site saw as i would like to not buy twice and i think long term the site saw will annoy me. What i liked about the dewalt was its manoeverability and the fact it is much sturdier than a site saw. Sory to ask same question again is it worth waiting for deal at W6 or similar trade show? or should i just scan the ebay, sites etc?
