I am in the same boat except have slightly higher budget (£1500..ish). I have been looking at sip 0133.. 10 inch and the identical ITEC one. The sip is more expensive but the ITEC appears to be the same saw under a different brand name for which there is little to no information about. I too have a small space 17' x 10' but I am designing my whole workshop round about it. I am finding looking for a saw quite frustrating because of my own lack in experience with the different brands and so i'm a bit nervous of taking the plunge.

With that budget definitely check out the Scheppach 3.0 Precisa, with the right side table removed it looks fairly compact. YouTube it.

Well done Bodgers its the Scheppaach 3.0 Precisa that has the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKNdEs9l2E4 not the Axminster saw I referred to in my last post, sorry for any confusion. Mind you I note they do not show him taking the sliding table off, bit heavy do you think?

There might be one of him taking the slider off actually...At least there used to be...

I would like to see him take that sliding table off by himself, its bigger than my cast iron sliding table and that is heavy enough.

  for a split second he is supporting the table, but we don't see him try to put it down, or lift it up to put it back on, it miraculously appears back on the slide without being lifted, well I suppose it is that time of year when miracles happen, seriously I do wonder how much it weighs to heft it on and off that saw?
