Hi all,
I have been working on a little referb project of late.
We previously had a pine table indoors which had two bench seats and we replaced it with something else as it took up to much room in the kitchen.
It was looking a bit worse for wear and was a bit shaky. It has been in the garden for a good 6 months under a tarp but as the weather brightened up a little I thought it was a good time to sort it out.
I forgot to take pics from the very start but you should be able to get an idea. I need to still do the two benches so i'll try to document them a little better.
Here is one of the legs before being dismantled fully and sanded.
as you can see the finish had seen better and where it was outside mold was starting to form on the lower legs.
This image shows it a little better
So I got some treated timber to form the new feet and also extended them by 4 inches to make the table a bit more sturdy.
Here is the table re-assembled
I made some new wedges for the through tenons (cross section lower table) but they are not in the picture as I was trying out some finishes on them first.
I have settled on Rustins Outdoor Wood Stain Light Oak. So I will see how it all looks and let you know if it holds up well (according to the tin it should).
I am hoping this weekend will be dry so I can take it outside and get this finish on it and then I can make a start on the 2 benches
Cheers
