I have a Kinex stainless straight edge which is a meter long - I bought it a few years ago when I was having a real set of problems with a large engine block.
Since then it has sat largely on the workshop wall - it's a big heavy thing. Until today when I tried to use it on a wall...
Now I have no way of testing the straightness of flatness of the testing surface of the straight edge - but when sighting down the length of it...it is not what I would call dead straight. There is definitely a mm or 2 of wobble in the length of it...
Now this edge is marked DIN 874-1 - should this be on all axis of the rule or just the top one which is used for measuring flatness?
