Excuse my ignorance, I have only been a member of this forum for about 4 weeks and only started woodworking 8 weeks ago, what is this bash? can anyone go and when is it?

I would love to see how others do things, also meet some fellow woodworkers.

Martin - see here for a prime example of the species, definitions of which might be as follows:
MicroBash - up to 3
MiniBash - up to 6
BiggerBash - 6 and over attending
....in short a chance to get together, eat, drink and have a good gloat and pass on the odd snippet or three of useful sawdusty info - Rob

You certainly won't be out of your depth - the whole reason for these Bash's is to meet up (in the flesh - be afraid! ) and have some fun. Skill levels do not apply (although its a great opportunity to see things demonstrated, etc). So please do come along if you have the chance - you will be very welcome.
Cheers
Philly :D
P.s. Yes, that is Robs shirt!!!

I will if my shiftwork allows me, I work continental shifts, that includes most weekends :(

Sorry I won't be able to bake it to the bash :( but my eldest daughter is getting married that day and she won't give me a pass out. Be thinking of you though. Have a good one!

Dennis :)

Jorden,

Well at least the weather will be good for the wedding -Steve's already arranged that.

Motown,
you have mail.
It sounds like its going to be a mega slope grease with all these Collectors attending.
I think loud shirts are optional.
Don't worry about skill levels -there will be at least one other beginner there -me

Philly, we (or at least I) am expecting to see some planes, in particular I want to see that brass channel shoulder plane you made.

Will we get a chance to stroke the Kerof (Spell??)

Ah you spotted that did you :)
I tell you what though, photos don't do that shoulder plane justice. The wood fair glows when it gets a bit of oil on it. Gorgeous thing it is.
Cheers Mike

Mike,

Thats the one! (drool!)

Assuming you are not comming to Notts, you could always send the plane to me, so I can take along.

Will return it straight way afterwards    :^o

I was planning on coming to Steve's, the idea was I would stay at my dads who lives a couple of streets over but seeing as hes just locked up the house and gone back to Nigeria for a couple of months my plans are now up in the air. I'll certainly bring it with me if I make it though.
Cheers Mike

I'll bring plenty of planes - also will be giving a demo on making them!
Glad to see you're making good use of the plane, Mike :D
Cheers

That shoulder plane looks oddly familiar..... :-k :D - Rob

Hi,
I will bring my home made shoulder planes and a couple of other home made tools as well as some pudding ( I make a great fresh fruit salad)

Pete

To make the day interesting I thought Philly and I would bring along our friend Real Ale, but only to be consumed when the tools are away.
