One of my finds from the Norfolk Antiques fair and one of the nicest old marking gauges I have seen. I like how it has those paddle nobs (cannot think what else to call them!) rather than a slot screw, which are just annoying to adjust... though I am thinking there must be a reason so many old gauges have them.

Everything on it works smoothing and there is a useful amount of spike left on all 3 points.

I think its 1920s, can anyone confirm?

No idea of the date, but I'd call them thumbscrews. They weren't exclusive to the Spanish Inquisition!
