Is there actually a "preferred" clearance between runs of doors, drawer fronts etc when using concealed hinges? (The hinge itself may set a maximum cabinet side overlay and thus the absolute minimum door clearance dimension)

In Mass production a standard door is usually 4mm less than the width of the cabinet so a 600mm cabinet has a 596mm door. I usually go a bit tighter about 598mm to get a more refined gap.

As paul has mentioned it depends on the type of hinges you are using and how thick the doors are.

Thanks for your replies; doors will be 19 or 21mm. I prefer a smaller gap but in other people's kitchens, door hinges are often well worn!

I have all the figures from the Blum catalogue which allow you to calculate all posibilities, but was not sure if the big gaps found on mass produced kitchens were to allow generous mfrg tolerances / match appliance bezel clearances etc., or to compensate for a lot of sag...

ps. In the past I've checked my (home made) hinge jig settings with a little dummy cabinet knocked up from scrap.

Ivan, be careful.
Although you can reduce the gaps, euro hinges can be quite complicated and precise.
Also remember that they will always have slack due to the nature of the hinge and if your margins are too tight you may have alignment / binding problems especially if you have a run of doors.
