HI Just a reminder the NEW woodworking show at Springfields starts tomorrow. http://www.wws1.co.uk/

Its small but well put together :)

It is being put on by some of the traders themselves and is there first one so some people have been a bit hesitant about taking trade stands.

It is free entry and free parking and there is a lot else to do in the area so well worth a visit.

The hope is that they will get a good turnout by visitors and make further shows possible not just at Spalding but other areas of the country as well.

I will be there on the Friday all day, Saturday PM and Sunday all day on the Village Turners stand, hope to see you there.

John

Look forward to seeing some of you there; the hall is tucked away a bit behind the garden centre, turn right just after you pass the garden centre and you'll find us along the drive there.

With the recent announcement that the Woodex shows in Leamington Spa are no more things do not look good for shows. As someone has said elsewhere, use them or lose them!

Shame about the dates, they clash with Woodfest Wales. Maybe get down next year.

Hi Tam,
I would have gone to Woodfest Wales as we have for the last two years but they have moved it to the first weekend in June which is not this weekend!!
Just in case you decided to go this weekend, one week early!!
Best regards,
Ian

Hi All,
Just got back from Springfields and we all had a superb day at the show.
Good demo's and good stock on the trade stands. The club stands were well staffed with friendly faces and always willing to chat.
WELL WORTH GOING!!!
Regards to all the organizers
Ian

I have been there all weekend on the village turners stand and have just got home and unloaded and enjoying a nice cup of tea. :D

It was a very good show and enjoyed by all the visitors and those on the stands that I talked to.

As for next year I have heard that the hall has been booked for the 11th, 12th & 13th June so make a note in your diary.

I also heard a rumour that there might also be one in the midlands, dont know when or where but worth keeping an eye out for in case it happens. ;)

With so many of these shows seeming to fall flat it's good to here of one that was a success. We have the Royal Cornwall coming up this Thurs. Fri. & Sat. Our Club (Cornwall Woodturners Assoc) has a stand there and hopefully I'll be on it for some of the time. Not sure but I think I'm the only turner on the forum down this way though there a re some flatworlders dfown here.

I went on Sunday and thought it was a good show, good location and facilities, the wife said it was a bit small but then she found out that a shopping centre was next door so she was happy. I managed to buy what I wanted, watch a few demos and have a chat so I'll definitely be going again if it's put on, so well done to all for a good show.

I was too busy turning to take photo's sorry
it was good talking to jpt over the weekend
