Used to work on a farm when Series III landrovers were new - supposed to be able to go at 45 degrees sideways up a 1 in 1 hill,but I found it interesting* going up and down angles like that square on,without introducing another dimension to it :shock:
And on my college middle year,I remember going out spreading fertilizer on grassland that was so steep,I was driving the tractor stood up and leaning forward (don't think it made any difference,but it made me feel better :lol: )


*Interesting - in the quaint Yorkshire art of understatement,equates to the Teesdale expression "and my arse went sixpence,shilling,half-crown,manhole cover" 8)

When I did my course, this is the one of the things I was told not to do, either straight up, or horizontally across the slope, never diagonally as the Landy may tip over - Rob
