Although your machine takes 6 1/2" coping saw blades I suspect it was intended for use with standard pinned scroll saw blades
Just to add, on the Multico the tension is at the top at the back, the Nutool probably underneath, its usually a matter of turning the tension knob tighter for standard length blades

I agree with what 'Whatnot' says - that your saw is designed to take standard pinned blades. The machine was available under many different brands and guises, I believe that Axminster sold a version at one time.

Hi This is an interesting thought. I wonder though with two separate machines, essentially identical bar one being badged "Multico" the other "NuTool", and coming from different sources; both having been fitted with 61/2inch blades. The photo I have taken is poor but I will get a picture next week of both the NuTool and a cheap 5" blade machine side by side and from that the relative dimensions difference is clear. I will have a go at fitting a 5" blade in the machine and see if it works though :)
Success! Delighted that, as suggested, the standard 5" pinned blades do indeed fit both the machines! Thanks for the guidance. I am now able to "cope". Someone somewhere suggested that if you start with cutting out the alphabet by the time you get to Z you will be pretty good. As I want to cut my own stencils then seems a good place to start......A?

Absolutely correct - now running fine with 5" blades! Thanks
