Hi Folks,
Its been a while since I last posted, however i have been fortunate enough to receive a commission for a sycamore bowl measuring 13" by 5". The diameter is very easy to find from hardwood retailers however the depth is very difficult to come across. Does anyone have a 'guy' or other source for large turning blanks?

Yours Hopefully,
Joe

I would try home of wood. I know he does some 4" but I don't know if he has thicker stock.

You could give British Hardwoods (twixt Keighley & Skipton) a call. They don't do many turning blanks as such but they have some very big chunks of all sorts.

(if you are ever passing their 'odds and sods' room is a joy. All clearly marked and priced and you can wander, and wonder, as long as you want)
