I bought one of these about 6 months ago. Superb bit of kit. I've used it dozens of times, the cutters are still sharp and it does an accurate neat job in no time at all. No chiselling required other than to square up the face place slot.

I've been using one of these for eight years. The original, with orange cutter pots was darned good; I upgraded to the new blue pot cutters a couple of years ago, and it's even better. Wouldn't chop a mortice lock in any other way. You can also use it, if you're orthogonally challenged like me, for accurate fitting of mortice rack bolts.

And there's a cutter for fitting Adams Rite locks to aluminium doors.

Souber also have an adaptor and a (very long) long bit for drilling right through a door width when cabling electric locks like the Cisa.

Same here, cut 4 mortises last week in less than 20mins all perfectly central and very clean

+1. The Souber jig is definitely a money maker (if you're on a price with a decent number of doors to hang)

I bought mine when I was fitting out a small hotel in Marylebone. 65 fire doors to hang - it was a life saver.
