A cracking two day jolly for me.
Easy trouble free journey south to Sussex on Friday after a little business, arrived at my hostelry in good time for a pint and cats lick before a short trip to Goodwood for that evenings racing.
Three bets, two wins and sufficient profit to pay for the cost of the trip.
Jazz band 8) , dancing semi-clad ladies , and a number of high maintenance women about the place
Skipped the last race to dash back to the pub for supper. Confit du canard, bok choi and saute potatoes. A nice glass of pinot noir, and five pints of Sharps Doombar later I was fast a sleep.
After a decent breakfast I headed for the show at West Dean. Set in rolling country side, a very pretty place, gardens, streams and a magnificent hall which housed the workshops, student accommodation and college.
I enjoyed the presentation by Deneb on scraper planes, and the tour of the workshops. It would be nice to have the time for a short course at the college.
It was also great to team up with the gang. PaulM, Paul C, Pete, Rob, Nigel and Les. To meet Steve as well. Philly, and Alex on the CHT stall.
Lots of useful tips and ideas from watching demonstrations etc.
Home by 9.00pm. A great two days.
Cheers, Tony.
