Very nice indeed M'lud !!!
The finish looks excellent, amazing that you where able to make such a quality table from (what someone considered as) an old board !!!
I notice that you still have the original throat plate on your SIP, i had a few problems with small rips falling into the gap and then being spat out at me
i have since made an mdf zero clearance insert and would thoroughly recomend it !!
Cheers.

Turned out really nice, that was a good buy at £3.:D

I have never used tapered legs, most of the small tables I have made have laser printers stood on them, must try and do one as they do look good on your one.

Umm.. Tapered legs  Swmbo wanted fat chunky straight legs, I wanted tapered as I knew it would look balanced, I wanted to do a molding around the top, swmbo wanted flat edges, so we compromised

Edit... Only taper the insides of the legs or it will look top heavy.

So you cut all legs the same length to start with didya :D

Dom

Yep, and by gluing up on the saw table top it's got to be flat ennit

I didn't post into the thread a week or so back about sawing bits off, as Frank Sinatra once said "I did it my way"

A very nice table, I like the grain pattern on the top and what a price to pay for materials...an inspiration to awdust makers like me!

Another neat and well made table is my reply.

I would still question that it is Br. Mahogany, I purchased 30 mtrs 5 years ago and the colur of yours is much redder than mine.

If you want to confirm colour I suggest we put a known colour picture on the thread like a portion of a postage stamp and I could do the same and when sample colour matches you might see the true difference in colour.??

Very nice indeed - and to think that it all came from one unwanted board at a car boot sale!

I like the look of your tapering jig also and would love to make something similar for myself. How did you make that curved part? I haven't seen them on sale anywhere, so I assume I'll either have to make one or source it from a cheap jig.

All the wood came from this

The curved part was drawn on the wood, the inner slot was cut with a jig saw, the outer edge on a band saw then the edges were sanded off. The handle was nicked off an old cheapo fret saw but I had to bore down the centre of it and epoxy a nut inside it. If I were to do it again I would put the handle on the other side, the side nearest to the fence. the hinge is all wood including the pin.
