I'm restoring an old glockenspiel, and the "keys" rest on a thin rubber tube, 3mm ID, 1mm wall thickness. This has perished, and there doesn't seem to be a local source of such stuff. The nearest thing is neoprene fuel tube for small engines, but that's too stiff.
Any bright ideas who might sell small quantities of this?

I'm surprised that model fuel tube is to hard, though there are a few different makes, the stuff I've usedin the past is as flexible as silicon.

Other option may be to use small "O" rings though they will be no softer.

Not got time to search now but we used to buy rubber cable sleeves from RS components that sound similar sizes. Originally known as Hellerman sleeves not sure if they still exist.

Hi Dickm,
Sounds like you need latex tubing. My Mums a vet, they use this stuff all the time. (Dont ask what for ewwwwwww  ) Whats the Total length you need, I should be able to scrounge a (new!) bit :D

Lee.

Thanks for all those replys, folks. The problem with this application is that the tube needs to be <very> soft, which rules out most sleeving and also some neoprene grades. The RS components link is possibly the best match, although the minimum quantity is a bit huge.
But following Syntec's suggestion, I'll talk (carefully!) to our vet.

If silicone tubing is too hard, I would imagine latex tubing would be as well. Latex will deteriorate rather quickly and it gets harder as it does.
