Mainly because a sharp sand screed mix is soft and will definately shift, crack and flake without a concrete sub base. Normally I would lay sand for blinding, a DPM, 50mm of jabalite, 100mm concrete and 50mm of screed but I simply have not go the room in this instance sadly.
