Firstly, I have to say I'm not very technologically minded.

I am soon to buy a new HD TV and upgrade to Sky+HD 2TB.
I want to put the sky box in a cupboard with wooden doors therefore need a magic eye to control it.
I have googled this and while there is a lot of info about putting a magic eye on a second TV (which I already have with my current none HD set up) there is none about putting one on the primary TV.
I think I'm getting myself a bit confused. From what I can tell, only the RF 2 out to the second TV has the required 9v output, the primary RF out to the primary TV does not. I'm not sure if this relates to none HD box only, does the HD box not use an HDMI cable to conect to the TV?

So basically can anyone point me to instructions for attaching a magic eye to a Sky+HD2TB to be used for the primary TV (I will still use a second on the second TV upstairs as well)?

Less important second Q, anyone know the dimensions of the Sky+HD2TB and how much space required behind for the cables to exit?

Cheers

Mark

Yes. The HD box does have an HDMI output but also has the two RF outputs and SCART as well. As you state only one of the RF outputs has the option to supply the 9v necessary for the magic eye.

Box is 350 wide x 240 deep x 70 high and looking at mine, you need at least 50 to 70mm at the back for cables.

run an rf cable and a hdmi cable to the main tv
use rf2 output cable to power the magic eye using a simple Y splitter if feeding 2 tvs
connect box to the tv with the hdmi cable.
no need to connect the rf out of the magic eye to the tv

alternatively get a seperate IR extender

Thanks for the replies
From those dimensions it will just fit in the cupboard
Nev, I'm not quite sure what you mean. Ive done a couple of diagrams, which (if either) is correct?
