My 10" SIP runs off a regular 13A plug - never had a problem with blowing fuses so wonder if a 16 socket is really necessary. The easiest solution would be to try an ordinary plug and see if it works. if it blows fuses then you know you have to find another solution.

Is any of that set up fused Harlequin? If not, what is the rating of your ring main fuse/MCB?

Roy.

Yes the plug has a 16 amp fuse inside.

I also have one of these in line which stops little fingers from turning the saw on.

Steve is correct and most SIP owners on here run theirs on 13 amp, but for some reason one or two members can only use their saws on 16 amp.

The only reason I need 16 amp is because I have the 12" SIP which is 4hp and 3000 watts

Thanks

Another one for you :D

the guide rail for the fence is quite a bit longer - the excess on the left could be trimmed flush methinks , any of you guys done this?

Yep! In fact I have only the L/H extension in place and it functions as my router table. The rails have been cut to suit.

any pics ?

I've chopped a lump of my rails - front and back as I have only one extension table on the right as I have the sliding table fitted. I really don't see a lot of point in having the ability to have the rip fence on the left of the blade. Just beware cutting the front rail - there is a steel piece attached underneath so you can't cut it with an scms or the table saw. The rear is all aluminium so not a problem

I too have the sliding table, but if you have the room I cannot see the point in cutting the rails because if left you can slide the fence out to the end and cut extra wide boards, ply or mdf being just two examples.

If you do not have the room then yes it is a good idea to trim them, but as Steve says there is a serrated piece of metal (which locks the fence)underneath that you will need a hacksaw to cut.

Cheers
