Hi,

I am considering one of these saws as they look to be good value.
Could someone tell me if the 3/4" mitre slots are also 3/8" deep?, and therefore capable of accepting an Incra mitre gauge.
The slots on my little Startrite 165 are 3/4" x only 1/4" deep :(

Does anyone find the right-tilting blade (toward the fence) a problem.. or is this something you just get used to?

Anyone know who sells the sliding table, which I assume is a retrofit item?

What about spare parts availability, or is this too much to hope for on such a budget saw.

I'm not sure which saw your referring to Anolan, if it's the Sip cast iron one I haven't measured how deep the slots are but they are more than 1/4" probably are 3/8", regarding the tilt to the right there is no problem as the fence can go either side of the blade, I do quite a lot with the fence to the left of the blade.

The sliding table can be bought on it's own, but I would imagine it would be best/cheapest buying the saw with one fitted.

Can't say about the spares as I've not needed anything as yet. 8)

The slots are standard 3/8 x 3/4 ". I have the incra 1000SE in mine, fits and works like a dream. Highly recommended.

As Lord Nibbo says, the fence can be used on the left when the blade is tilted.

I think world of power are the main dealer for SIP in the UK. I'm sure they would get you a sliding table.

Not sure about spare parts. It is the same saw as the Perform at Axminster, maybe you could get parts from them.

Hope this helps

I've just bought the SIP with sliding table from a company called Lyndhurst Woodworking Machinery - £600 delivered and great customer service as well.

Hi,

I also want to buy a SIP 10".
In the Netherlands they are sold as HBM - local importer.

Has anyone tried to fit a Dado blade on the SIP 10" table saw?
They rip dado's from 1/4 to 29/32' wide.

Can a user check if there is enough room left on the abor?

I want to use http://www.forrestblades.com/dado.htm

Regards
Hans

Hi Hans,

Welcome to the forum. :D

I cannot help with your question, but I don't think the UK version of the saw will take a full dado head as the arbour is not very long.

You post has been caught by a our spaminator, so I have quoted your link, this will stop once you have a few more posts to your name. 8)

This is one of those fundamental misconceptions. If a short rip fence is used (i.e. if the short auxilliary fence is used) there is no problem with work jamming between the blade and the fence. Personally I'm not keen on having a left tilter - with them the top of the blade is tilting into the area where my hand is likely to be!

SJ. or other SIP T/S owners.
Can i ask how your SIP tablesaw is still performing now you have had it for a while. Is the fence still accurate, does the rise and fall on the blade still work smoothly.

Well I think as a hobbyist I've put mine through some real hard work, lots of it. I changed the blade to a Frued just after I bought it, it's still in it. The belt drive could do with tightening but thats a tuit job. Everything else is as it was when new. Best £500 I ever spent.

Mine still woks great after two to three years, still think it was a great buy, only thing I changed was the mitre gauge for an EB3 which is just the icing on the cake.

Cheers, Paul. :D
