Does anyone have any tips for loosening up a drill chuck?
I have an old electric drill with a keyless metal chuck and I can't untwist it to release the wire brush bit in it. I've tried brute force, WD40 and gently smacking it with a hammer but it's stuck fast.

Does it do reverse or is it only forward geared?

I'd be tempted to stick the chuck in a vice with the drill in reverse and give a trigger a pull. Either your wrist breaks or the chuck breaks free.
