I just had a second look: I think the Charnwood sliding table/fence is the same as the Axy TS200 and the Kity 419. The Charnwood's track might be slightly different, but the carriage and fence look identical. The rip fence isn't the same though (the Axy and Kity ARE identical in that respect)

I'm not sure this means anything, as the actual saw table itself is quite different -- looks very nice though.
Eric, the slider is the same but the supporting structure underneath is much more robust than the Kity or Ax equivalent. In fact the footprint of the Charwood is smaller than the Kity by a margin which will suit my 'shop very well indeed - Rob

I took my sliding table off of the TS-200 as I made a sled for cross cutting boards up to 600mm wide. Anything over this size starts to get too big for my set up so I use my track saw instead.

How is your sliding mitre fence? Does it slide when tightened and does it wobble and have play in the slot?

Dunno yet: I noticed that the tyres had split (four bearing-rollers that it runs on). I've sourced replacements but not yet fitted them. Although split, the trolley was still running without any wobble that I could feel (without a heavy load on it though).

I've lubed the components carefully. The sliding mitre adjustment wouldn't, but now it's fine. I think Aly-on-aly needs something like PTFE spray otherwise it does tend to jam. The rollers underneath are also adjustable, but, as I said, I haven't done them yet.

I've yet to finish cleaning it, make a new table (the previous owner is _much_ taller than me!) and get it all done before finishing the setup adjustments.

E.

Hi
Your original link was to the Jet 315S site saw.
Top top machine for the pennies. We run two of them and work them hard. Will do 90mm cut with ease with it's 2.2kw motor (3hp to me and you).
If you search hard enough you can find them new for 275 + vat ( was last time I checked)
