Thanks Roy. I am obliged. Nice colour too. The blood won't show!

So that's sorted my Christmas present from Swimbo ! :ho2

Does 'Ian' frequent the Forum?
Googling Dragon saws leads me to a text information site, or eBay, where I find only bandsaw blades and handsaws. There seems to be no way of ordering a circular sawblade.
TIA. :)

I think I have one of those somewhere!

Obliged and be careful around edged tools!

In my case that includes eating utensils.. I'm on a diet!

:D

In my experience Mike all table saws have a left hand thread, that means Dave that you pull the spanner towards the front of the machine to release the blade.
If there are no spanner flats or Tommy bar holes in the arbor a block of wood jammed into the saw teeth will normally suffice.
Hope that helps.

Roy.

ALL saws Roy?
Many years I bought a USA made table saw with a left hand arbor and a belt driven blade with a right handed nut. The belts kept breaking as the saw tried to achieve full speed instantly on switch-on (no soft start there) .
The last straw was when I switched off, to find that the nut had unscrewed and the blade came off as it powered down (no blade brake also}.
I never used it again.

You are very modest in your Xmas wish list John - I thought I was being quite modest in wanting a floor standing drill press with the front back thing and tilting head

Mind you, I haven't told her yet so I might end up with a new blade just like you

Ah well Losos,

At 70 years of age, it is now mostly replacement parts I need, rather than new items. (That covers the new knee-joints and sundry other body parts that are gradually wearing out  !)

As for what I would like in the woodwork line, I have to be honest, anything major would be overkill. So unless I go in for large scale veneering projects I will forget the vacuum press I could use!

I hope you enjoy using your sawblade as fully as I intend to enjoy using mine!

Alla best! :)

At the risk of going off post John, if you have the usual creaks and groans of our age I was recently recommended the use of Cod liver oil capsules.
I have osteo arthritis of the spine, or as my GP phrased it 'your spine is worn out!'
At different times I have had injections into my back and also to be lifted out of bed.
No more!
I have been completly free of pain for a month now, the first time for many years.

Roy.

Aye Roy,

Thank the fates for Cod...

and Glucosamine-Sulphate & chondroitin. Keeps me working with wood, where I might otherwise have had to stop a while. I know it's another tablet to add to the rattling, but it keeps the mind active and stops me dwelling on Woodworm, Dutch Elm Disease, and Dry Rot; and that's only my bones!

The empty containers are also great for screws and stuff!

Thanks Roy.
Alla best
