I am looking for saw doctor in Bedfordshire and arround area able not just to sharpen some of my handsaw but mainly to straighten them.
Reason why I do not want to have a go myself is to get some bench mark for comparison before I will practice on the others as well as to take care of my more expensive saws.
Any pointers/ recommendations?
Thank you

I will give them ring on Monday as from their web is not clear if they do straightening as well as sharpening.

Bedford saw services in Ampthill Road still there?

I don't think they sharpen hand saws now, the chap who did them retired, only machine sharpen power saw blades.
If you go on a Saturday don't park in the yard, you will be parked in!!

I have looked at Paul Sellers video but it does not show straightening and tensioning pannel saws.

I am still not lucky. Beford Saws send the handsaws to be done somewhere else and they do not provide straightening and tensioning of hand saws.

Perhaps I will have to look further affield. Anu pointers?

I had a look and I have to confess that I am already spending most of my free time ( woodworking is a hooby) on restoring good quality old tools and not much is left for woodworking itself.
For that reason I was looking for saw doctor to do few of my saws for me that I can spend time woodworking as well as to give me same examples of benchmarks how it should look once I am a bit more skilled and my family is happy ( that there is also something produced for them rather than just mess from restorations) I will have a go all the way. I am already doing my rip sharpening and I am not that bothered about cross but straightenning and even more apropriate tensioning is far beyond my skills and confidence.
