Is there anyone else out there who has a Samsung American fridge/freezer..? If so can you please explain exactly what the 'Energy Saver' function does..? cos i've searched and searched and i cant find out :duno:

Fridges manufactured after 1993 often include a switch that lets you choose between an exterior moisture-reducing mode and an energy-saving mode. What's the difference? Set your fridge to the exterior moisture-reducing mode and a heater will kick on to keep condensation off the outside of the fridge; set your fridge to the energy-saving mode and it won't an energy-savings of 5-10%.

So I guess it just means that other fridges simply don't give you the option to turn off the moisture-reducing heater. If it is indeed the same thing you're referring to that is.

I have got one but sadly have no clue what the energy saver is. SWMBO said "buy that one" and I did!

Just looked it up.

"The Energy Saver is carefully designed into the door closure mechanism. Which doesn't. That way you save energy each time you open it. Clever eh?'

Seriously, no idea ...

Surely obvious. if you bulk shop and put it in the fridge / freezer it saves you the energy of shopping again for a while.

We have samsung FF with this and have no idea either.
