I Know this subject has been covered a million times but I just thought I'd mention this.

I'm makin myself a new router table this weekend (about my 8th!), whilst looking for a suitable material for the top I came across This website http://www.hindleys.co.uk they are a school supplies company.

I came across some acrylic 1mm thick in all sorts of colours and sizes, i chose a nice black to match my table saw, 610mmx915mm for just £2.20 exc VAT. Bargain!

I thought this may be of use to anyone with a similar build coming up.

My understanding is you need to do both sides of your surface to stop cupping.

That looks a good source of supply and the prices are good, however I don't think that acrylic will be hard warring for a router table top, let us know how you get on with it.

It will certain wear, though Acrylic has some good properties, abrasion resistance isn't one of them. The life could be extended by turning it over when it's worn of course.
I have used SRBP because of its superior wear resistance which might be a better choice when replacement time comes around.
