Ex demo machine, producing a knocking sound when machining wood, and wood stutters when going through machine.
Anyone has similar problems or any solutions.
Thanks in advance

Not familiar with the machine, but it sounds like the pressure roller or the wood is knocking / catching against the dust cowel.

It doesn’t seem to start until the board reaches the outfeed roller, I’d suspect the roller is binding/ slipping take the side cover off and watch the chain/cogs driving the rollers whilst thicknesses a board.

Back in work later, I’ll take side case off and look at chain turning as machine is running if problem persists

Like any planner / thicknesser make sure the thicknessing bed is clean and waxed. If the wood struggles to slide on the table it will not feed smoothly. Also, check the tension on the feed rollers. Too much pressure will also prevent the smooth travel across the bed.
