Sorry for your loss. Hope this helps.

He Is Gone
You can shed tears that he is gone,
Or you can smile because he lived,
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared,
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

hi blister, sorry to hear of your bad news, i lost my mum to cancer. i still think of her often. my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. regards colin.

High everyone

I would just like to thank you all for your kind words , I have read every massage

As mentioned time is a healer , I am coming to terms with with my situation now , and have now started to look forward , to the future , and when I think back I now think of the good time spent with dad

Hopefully the immense sadness of dads last breath will now be thought of as a moment in time when dad passed from pain to rest and to be with mum once again

The funeral is arranged for 10.45 4th July

Many thanks to you all

Allen

As some of you are aware , dad has been very ill suffering from cancer

I was with him from 2pm yesterday , until 10.30 am today

He passed away at 8.20 this morning

I will miss him so much as he was a huge part of my life for 53 years

God bless you dad , I will never forget you
Very sad news. I feel for you and offer my sincere condolences..

I'm still mourning mine and still awaiting the Inquest over two years on.

Take care and try to remember all the good times with your Dad. Best wishes for the funeral.

Blister,

Looking through some of the older posts pre-my joining the forum, and saw this one...

My sympathies are with you..

I lost my father in Sept. 2005, very suddenly, following a very short post-op illness...

It was like losing a limb, but I'm getting over it now.

It certainly took a while, more so in that he introduced to wood-turning and bought my current lather for me.

What I miss most is getting in touch with him for tips, pointers and showing off my efforts...

This forum will never replace him, but it certainly comes a close second...

Stick in Blister, there's folks here who know what you're going through...

Dougie. :)

Blister,

Just picked up on this thread. I lost my Dad 3 years ago, very similar circumstances. My consolation was that like your Dad, he firmly believed he would be reunited with my Mum. In time the immediate pain will pass but the sense of loss will always remain I think. I know how you feel, I am thankful that I had such a great Dad and look back at all the great things we shared and the things he taught me.

Its hard to be an orphan, even if you are 60

My thoughts are with you.

Mike C
