Sorry for resurrecting old thread. I would like to buy 10" rip saw blade. I am not satisfied with my current combination CMT blade, it leaves a lot of burn marks on hardwood.

I am thinking to get some german blade, but I am finding to difficult to read their catalog. I am thinking between these two, it says for "sizing" I don't know what it means. It's not written "rip saw" or "longitude cuts". One is with 24 other is 18 teeth. One is with flat teeth, other is "alternate top bevel". Any recommendation between these two blades:

I am also thinking about this Freud, https://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/Fre ... -Saw-Blade

Sizing simply means cutting to rough size

The ATB allows the blade to achieve a smoother cut when cutting across the grain when compared to the flat tooth. However, given that rip blades such as these have low tooth counts, you wouldn't want to finish cross cut with them anyway, so it doesn't really matter much.

FYI, I have the freud blade - it's brilliant at ripping, letting me cut full depth rips with no problems.

I think most of the good brands all do good quality blades. I think the most important aspect when a good finish is choosing the right blade for the job not the one that is in the saw at the time. Also keeping them in good condition/sharpening by a good saw doctor.
For ripping I would definitely go for the 12" blade, your saw has more than enough power. For more specialist blades you might go with the 10" versions as they are quite a bit cheaper and your scorer can be used.
