Hi all
I just replaced the (plasticine) blade in my Stanley #6 with the lovely A2 blade from my LN #5.5./ A perfect fit!!!
The mouth is plenty wide enough although I had to wind the frog back on it's screws, the chip breakers fits with the standard screw without any problem and the plane is transformed.
I am using this on the shooting board at the moment as it's high mass (and so inertia) help when shooting Oak. The standard blade lasted seconds on Oak end grain but the A2 just keeps on shooting and shooting
Now awaiting a delivery of new blade for my #5.5 from Axminster
