Removing the springs from a garage door?

I’m in the middle of making new garage doors, and I need to remove the up and over door. I can’t get my head around how to safely remove the springs, and my wife isn’t keen on me dressing up in all the PPE I own, and going at them with the bolt croppers!!

Any thoughts? See attached pic for reference.

Obviously it shouldn’t be done when they are stretched lol.
But seriously, people have been injured messing with them.

Without being certain when you open the door and prop it open, it should relax the tension enough to allow you to manually pull against the remaining resistance and unhook them. It looks like you lift them as a group using the the curl in the coupling.
It's likely the reverse action as if you wanted to increase the tension by lifting up to the next notch.
Once both sides are off you will have to close the door CAREFULLY which will no longer have any resistance.
You should be able to confirm this by finding the manufacturers name and model and looking online.

Perhaps some better pictures of the whole track arrangements would help Col ?
I've found those type of replacement springs under the Garador brand but unfortunately no video yet.
